Jenni Jalkanen Here are some thoughts that rose up after this demo: It´s important to tell people EFO isn´t fighting. At all. If someone comes to learn a "secret weapon" to beat all his/her opponents, he/she is in the wrong place. EFO can give an extra kick if needed in a battle where other form of marshal arts are presented (and where intention excists), but as itself EFO is NOT fighting or self-defence. Quite the opposite. You cannot compete with EFO.
EFO works, there is no doubt about it, but in order to practise it, both parties must commit and open up to practise it in a way it is being taught. It cannot be used for unethical purposes such as show-offs or hurting. It just won´t work that way. It is about training the mind. NOT fighting!!!
EFO gives a physical form to things that can be otherweise hard to understand. It gives a chance to explore the power of mind in an understandable way, a concrete way. If you fight back, the one with more power "Wins". With EFO both win. At it´s best a fight never occures. It "melts away" before the actual collision. Due to it´s origin and physical excistence tatami is the right place to practise EFO.
EFO is a state of mind. Everything seen and done is just a result of it. The results are similar with physical and verbal attacs. In order to succseed, the practisioner has to KNOW WHO HE IS and feel COMFORTABLE with himself. EFO clears unnecessary emotions away from people´s energy and therefore is a huge help in the process of growing as a person. The more one does work with himself, the better EFO goes. (Believe me, I KNOW ) Regular practising is like getting energy treatments in a regular basis. There is no doubt that in time it leadsin to major progress. We´ve seen it with many people already.

Jenni Jalkanen But, honestly, you have to come and try for yourself. Explaining verbally is quite impossible. Open mind is enough.

Karl Kärpuk I thought EFO was something that could be used to control another person (an attacker, if you may) without physically touching him. Isn't this the case?

Ville Lehti If the other person has the intention to hurt you, I dont think it will work. Like the video shows.

Karl Kärpuk How do you call an attacker, who has no means to hurt you? Then he does it just because he can? Why that would be mean now, wouldnt it?

Karl Kärpuk I need the answers before i come. I need to know what is it actually about. I need to know, why doesnt a self-defense technique like this seem to work on all people. It was all very intriguing and i wanted to come to a seminar. And then i saw this video. Explain, what is happening in that video. Explain it to me like i am five.
Edit: Explaining verbally is not impossible. On the contrary, you CAN explain it to me verbally. Just think of the reasons why it didnt work and type the words that come into your head. It actually is that simple.

Jenni Jalkanen Well, I already wrote quite long text trying to open up the idea Starting from the fact EFO is not self-defence. It's much more than that. Either you choose to experience it or not, it's your choice. Meanwhile we keep on practising and give you the most warmest welcome if you decide to come and try for yourself

Karl Kärpuk Jenni, i did read what you said. I am also okay with empty forve refering to a mental state.
Still, master Jukka Lapila himself said that it could be used to control an attacker without physically touching him.
Are you saying it works only for those who believe in it?
A punch in the face works for literally everything that has a face.
PS! I am not closed minded, but just rather confused. Everything is so abstract.
Give me some concrete arguments, why Jukka Lapila could not manipulate with his opponents in this video even though he said he could.

Jenni Jalkanen Seems to me there is not a way to explain it to you. You are most welcome to explore it yourself in practise. I can pay your first lesson (7€), so there really isn´t nothing for you to lose. Welcome!

Karl Kärpuk Well, okay, we can close the case just like that, but i do not think there is no way to explain it to me.
The situation actually seems to be very simple. I dont want to circle jerk around the same topic constantly, but still:
1) He claimed to be able to manipulate an opponent from distance by efo.
2) He demonstrated this on his students/cotrainers/some pople.
3) He could not successfully do, what he told he could, on sceptics.
Why?
I am sure there is a clear explanation. There has to be.
Now, we can call it an end of story and i would take it as a pure scam on people, who let themselves to be manipulated, robbed and mislead while whiping the ass of the guy who did so.
OR someone could explain the situation clearly and we can carry on without me having a doubt how legit efo is.
"it works on those who believe in it" is a wrong answer.
