Esa semana no toca musculación. Sólo kung Fu y Tai chi.

When the video begins, it appears that some sort of verbal confrontation has already taken place.

Black man: …AC Transit
Bruso: Let’s get back to business. How much you charge me for a spit-shine?
Black man: what?
Bruso: How much you charge me for my Stacy Adams? I’m going to a funeral on Friday…You said you… [note: Stacy Adams are a brand of shoe.]
Black man: Did you get what I said just now?
Bruso: Yes
Black man: Why a brother gotta spit-shine your shoes?
Bruso: You offered!
Black man: I didn’t offer you shit.
Bruso: What’d you just say when you walked by me?
Black man: I said why, why a fuckin’ brother gotta spit-shine your shoes?
Bruso: You don’t have to!
Black man: Why a white man can’t spit-shine –
Bruso: [interrupting] – It could be a Chinaman! It don’t matter!
Black man: Look dude…
Bruso: I ain’t prejudice! What? You think I’m prejudice!

We interject here due to comments stating that Bruso is telling the truth about not being racist, and that he may have actually received a shoe-shine from another black man, which angered the black man in the video. This is not the case. As can be heard in the video, Bruso states that he is going to a funeral in the near future and is asking the black man for a shoe-shine. Because the video begins mid-conversation, it is not clear to the viewer how shoe-shining was brought up. This allows for the possibility that the black man may have instigated the conflict by offering to shine Mr. Bruso’s shoes (whether with genuine or sarcastic intent) but to assert this would be mere speculation.

The trope of the black shoe-shine boy is one with a deep history of placing African Americans in yet another role of servitude. An example of this can be found in the story of the 73-year-old Colorado Department of Transportation worker who, in 2009, emailed a doctored picture of President Obama shining Sarah Palin’s shoes, adding “it appears he has found his niche.” (reference: Huffington Post)

Furthermore, Bruso’s casual use of the word Chinaman denotes his ignorance of other races.

Black man: [pointing toward front of bus] Take your ass back up there and get the fuck out my face right now.
Bruso: Why you being so hostile, man?
Black man: ‘Cause. I’m pissed off.
Bruso: Well its better to be pissed off than pissed on.
Black man: Take your ass up there right now
Bruso: [standing to go to the front] You ain’t scarin’ this white boy. I’m 67 years old. You ain’t scarin’ me. You ain’t scarin’ me.
Black man: [now, also standing] I’m 50.
Bruso: You ain’t scared of me. You ain’t scarin’ me.
Black man: I’ll put my foot up your ass.
Bruso: No you won’t! No you won’t!

Another passenger makes remarks. Bruso moves to the front of the bus as the two exchange threats to whoop each other’s asses. Although Bruso has physically distanced himself, he continues the verbal conflict.

Bruso: You won’t do nothin’ to me! [then something unintelligible]
Black man: Say it again! [then something unintelligible as woman who was filming talks over him]
Iyanna Washington: Say it again! Say it again, Pinky!

The black man begins walking to the front of the bus.

Someone off camera whom many allege is Iyanna Washington: Beat his white ass! Whoop his ass!
Another passenger: Leave him alone!

The two men seem to be speaking to one another at the front of the bus, but cannot be heard over the noise from the rest of the passengers.

Iyanna Washington: It ain’t worth it, blood, it ain’t worth it.

The black man begins walking back to his seat as other passengers continue to comment.

Black man: I’d put my foot up your ass.
Bruso: I see tough guys like you and I slap the shit out of them.
Black man: What?!
Another passenger: Stop it!

The black man walks to the front again to continue the confrontation.

At 1:40, the black man lunges at Bruso, being the first to elevate the conflict to physical violence when he attempts to strike him in the chest, but the blow is mostly deflected by Bruso’s arm.

Bruso stands up and punches the black man in the face repeatedly. At least 9 punches can be seen, then the camera moves too much to get a clear view.
At 1:51 the black man can be seen shielding his face.

Bruso: Don’t fuck with me! He hit me! He fuckin’ hit me!

As can be seen earlier in the video, the black man attempted to either hit or shove him, but failed to connect.
Epic Beard Man exits the bus.

Bruso: He fuckin’ hit me first! He hit me in the face! [unintelligible] – self defense!

Bruso was not hit, nor was the attempted punch directed at his face.
At 2:07, blood spatter is visible on the seats of the bus.
At 2:22 Iyanna picks up a bag left by the old man.

Iyanna: Open that shit! laughs

Various passengers comment on what they’ve witnessed.

Iyanna: We can press charges, blood. I got in on videotape. He’s leakin’.
Black man: That motherfucker hit me. No no no no no.
Another passenger: Did he break your teeth?
Black man: No. Bring an ambulance.

Because of the man’s bleeding, injured face, his pronunciation of the word “Ambulance” has been misheard by many as either “bring M&M’s” or “bring amber lamps.”

Then there are some more remarks from various passengers, and the scene ends with a shot of a bench reading “Keep our city clean & safe. Do your part.”"

Demonios cyber, lo iba a postear just now.

Uffff... Yo me pierdo bastantes cosas de lo que dice la verdad...

Edito: Encontré la transcripción de la entrevista!

INT: Your name please?

EBM: Tommy, Tommy [slick] from Chicago Illinois.

INT: Alright Tommy, so you know a lot of people are viewing you on youtube, that incident on AC transit, what do you think about this?

EBM: Ahh it's a little overwhelming, a little overwhelming, I don't deserve all that attention, I'm just doing what's right, he was a murderer, I got a murderer off the streets, I feel good about that, he was [whining] for murder, he did 18 years in the penitentiary, he's on parole, he was a parole violator, he's going to go back for 10 years for armed robbery, assault and battery and possession of a knife while on parole, and theft, they stole my money and my bag.

INT: Now what started the whole thing?

EBM: It was my Stacy Adams shoes, I says, I was talking to bob my white friend I'm going to my mothers funeral on Wednesday and I aint got no money, and I'm borrowing money from bob and I said bob can I get some shoes some Stacy Adams, I wanna wear them at my mommas funeral I said my boy, my boy is gonna shine them for me then he all of a sudden comes by and says "why it gotta be, your boy gotta shine them?" and he says why you a racist? I said I aint no racist, a boy can be anybody man, it could be a man it could be a girl it could be anybody and then I says my brother, "brother? Why it gotta be a brother shining your shoes?" I said listen man you a racist, because white green yellow is a brother to me I aint talking about no black person for all you know it's a Chinaman gonna shine my shoes so he said shut the fuck up you getting me mad I says I don't give a fuck

INT: And this is where we pick it up on the video and you guys start fighting

EBM: No not yet, no no no no, he said you better go back up in the front cause you starting to piss me off and I said it's better to be pissed off than pissed on, you know, so I went to the front of the bus, because I was getting real mad and I was getting scared when he showed me that knife and then I heard the [old] girl say "get that nigger" and then she said get that old white man hit him and then next thing you know he [suckered] me in the jaw bone hit me three times in the face and then I went i says you gonna get a Vietnam now mother and I whipped his butt so fast and so quick so pretty I hit him with Muhammed Ali left right left I did the Ali shuffle then I footballed in the head and then I stopped him and he was knocked out for 22 and a half minutes

INT: Now the police, did they...

EBM: they took me, I put my weapon down, my shank that I carry, I'm 67 I'm a senior, so I'm entitled to carry a weapon and they tried to rob me three times already in Oakland i had to shoot one of them with my pistol one night and he ran like a sissy but I never got caught for that and then I had to fight a guy stabbing me one night

INT: there's a lot of people writing comments saying you're a hero, how do you feel about all that?

EBM: I aint no hero man, I am a Vietnam vet and my momma died [Starts crying] my momma died

INT: I'm so sorry

EBM: my momma died 2 days later my momma died

INT: I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry to hear about that, you know you had a lot of people that feel like, because i mean a lot of people tired of this young generation being

EBM: beat you up

INT: and being disrespectful

INT: so when they saw this video on youtube they were like YEAH! VINDICATION!

EBM: old man, an old man beating up a young boy, stabbing him with a knife a convict, keep them convict murderers in jail, why is he out in the sidewalk, [with a killing] behind him, he shouldn't be on the sidewalk killing, if he killed one time he should be locked up for one hundred and fifty years

INT: do you know if the police officers arrested him?

EBM: they did, he's going to the penitentiary, 10 years for violation maximum, minimum 10 years and he gonna get another 20 for robbing me, he gonna get his 3 strikes he gonna get 25 years to life as his third strike, he got 3 counts

INT: did you get your stuff back?

EBM: yes the sheriff gave it back about 3 hours later, but they took, I still haven't got my identification card they stole that

INT: so people, when you walk down the street do they recognise who you are?

EBM: yeah about a hundred people took my picture yesterday and all the sheriffs deputies gave me rides and bought me coffee

INT: how do you feel about all that?

EBM: I was happy to ride in the front seat of a squad car instead of the back, I did 14 years in prison when I was a youngster, when I got out of Vietnam I was crazy I was selling drugs pimping and stuff

INT: what's your message to people?

EBM: Don't fuck with old senior citizens they'll surprise you once in a while, you might beat them once in a while but every once in a while they gonna come up and they hurt you

INT: okay thank you did you wanna add anything else?

EBM: Yeah, god bless America and stop the war Mr Obama and I am happy Bush is out of office.
